Acupuncture is Effective to Relieve Pain and Help with Weight Management

Part of the challenge when one wants to lose weight is the motivation and associated aches and pains with mobilizing parts of the body that have been immobile. Acupuncture works well to counter both of these setbacks and support a routine to shed undesired pounds which may be holding us back from achieving our optimal desired lifestyle.
For some, motivation is the first major block to building a regular exercise routine. With acupuncture we work to boost the circulation of the body; breaking apart that stuck feeling in the mental, emotional, and physical bodies of our being. Chronic pain often contributes to this feeling of stuck-ness, perpetuating the lack of motivation to activate. Often the first pain is one chronic, one that we’ve carried with us for some years. Chronic pain is best alleviated with constant attention, TLC, and reconditioning thru acupuncture, bodywork, and gentle exercises/stretches. The beginning steps are best gentle and with awareness to bring the mental, emotional, and physical into greater alignment. As the chronic pains begin to work out, which may take up to a month of regular attention for each year endured, the dissolution of these may bring awareness to another pain unknown previously. This is another hurdle to maintaining the motivation to our health goals. And another reason to maintain and continue all that work done to this point. When one pain goes away, and another presents itself; be sure that you are on the right path to peeling back the layers needing healing.
The aches and pains of working out alone are commonplace and familiar territory for anyone that has taken time off exercise. Getting re-acquainted with our bodies can be daunting work. Dealing with acute pain as result of exercise can reinforce self-doubt and drop the motivation back into our consciousness. The struggle is real. And the need to continue with our goals, a must. This is where acupuncture can most benefit the goal to losing weight.
The action of these tiny needles into the bodies meridian points; are miraculous. Not only are we able to treat pain locally and distally (away from the pain location); acupuncture also assists with regulating the bodies metabolic processes. Stimulation of points have the ability to balance the endocrine system and kidneys; both involved in water retention, nerves, and hormonal rebalance. Points targeting the spleen and thyroid are effective at balancing blood sugar levels and hormones. The adrenals and ovary glands are often targeted with acupuncture to affect weight gain due to menopause or premenstrual syndrome (PMS).
